Your Markdown, finally a workspace.
md-edit opens your project folder and turns READMEs, specs and agent HQ files into Notion-style blocks, live dashboards and ClickUp-style boards. The file on disk stays plain Markdown that your agents, scripts and git already understand.
One file. Four ways to work with it.
md-edit is a layer on top of your files, not an owner of them. Switch views any time; the Markdown underneath never changes unless you change it.
Blocks you can pick up
Every heading, list, table and code fence is a block with GitHub styling. Drag an H2 and its whole section comes with it. ⌘Z undoes.
A real Markdown editor
Click to edit raw Markdown with BBEdit-style coloring, by block, by nested section, or the whole file at once. Light and dark palettes.
Any doc, as a dashboard
Press ⌥⌘D and sections become cards, checklists get progress bars, and status, board, chat and chart fences become live widgets.
Private notes that never leak
Highlights, header emoji and notes to self live in md-edit's own database, keyed to the file's identity, so they follow renames and moves.
Plays well with everything
Git, Claude Code or another editor changes the file? md-edit reloads. Unsaved edits on both sides? You choose, nothing gets clobbered.
Lossless by design
Open a file and don't edit it: it's never rewritten. Edit one block: only that block changes. CRLF, BOMs and stray whitespace survive.
Markdown as a database.
Boards behave like ClickUp: quick-add tasks, open one to set status, assignee, priority, due date, subtasks and custom fields, switch between Board and List. Every change is one or two lines in the file.
The doc is the API.
Point Claude Code, Codex or any agent at one Markdown file. They claim cards, log progress and flag you when they need a human. You watch it all as a live dashboard. The format is compatible with workbench.md, so the same file works there too.
Open a folder. Everything else is just text.
